Abstract: | The radiology department of SKB Winterswijk faces high access times for their ultrasound examinations and a high workload for their technicians. In this thesis, we use discrete event simulation to tackle the underlying problem: high fragmentation of capacity allocation. Through defragmentation by regrouping patients and applying open access strategy to the appointment scheduling policy, we find a new improved blueprint schedule for ultrasounds at the radiology department of SKB Winterswijk. |
