| Abstract: | This report describes the research project that has been conducted towards the logistic performance at Glasboer Nederland. The main focus of this project is on the distribution of flat glass between the production facility and the end customers. A new logistics system has been introduced a few years ago. Now the products flow through a few hubs instead of all local distribution centres. However, the expected reduction in costs have not been realised yet, which resulted in the inducement to do research regarding this topic. The aim of this research is to investigate if improvements in efficiency can be realised in order to reduce costs and attain a high service level. |
