Abstract: | Both the national and local government have committed to publishing more public records as open data as part of a broader open government strategy. Open data is expected to have appositive effect on transparency and democracy as a whole. On the other hand, there might be privacy risks connected to the publication of open data. Municipalities have large amounts of public records that could potentially be released open data. This thesis is focused on the policies and procedures that Dutch municipalities use when they publish open data. |
