Abstract: | Challenged by aging population and the rise of comorbidities and polypharmacy, the anaesthesiologists at the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam use the implementation of a new hospital and patient information system as a start to initiate a project to optimise preoperative care and redesign the process around the patient. This research assesses the quantification of the patient arrivals to the preoperative assessment clinic and designs a schedule for the clinic to facilitate timely screening at the clinic for patients in the ideal time window to prepare patients for surgery. |
