Abstract: | This research, conducted at Bolletje B.V., describes the optimization and implementation of the production planning within their ERP system. Furthermore, part of this process is the optimization of the changeover process. Production planning at Bolletje costs much time and is subject to human mistakes since it is conducted manually. By implementing a (R,s,S) inventory control policy in Bollejte’s ERP system, we show that the planning process can be conducted faster and more efficient. Moreover, we conduct a Root Cause Analysis as well as a Single Minute Exchange of Dies Analysis, to reduce the changeover times. Those times are too long and inconsistent and cause production loss. With means of those analyses, we find multiple improvement actions. With the new inventory control policy and a safety stock that balances inventory investment and Bolletje’s service level, we account for uncertainties in supply and demand at Bolletje. |
