Re-design of an online survey to assess trust before the use of technology

Volonasi, N (2019)

Trust is an essential aspect of human’s social interaction. However, nowadays a new interaction has entered the picture; the one between humans and technology. Although several studies have explored how people trust technologies after using them, the reasons why people trusted this technology in the first place (pre-use trust) is not that much researched. A research study conducted by a bachelor student last year, focused on developing a survey, to assess trust before the use, which resulted in a list of recommendations regarding the survey. The aim of this research is, to improve the usability of the survey, by providing alternative solutions to the listed issues. Following the re-design process, a new usability test will be performed with thinking aloud techniques to explore the perspective of potential end-users. This will enable us to understand the potential weaknesses and strengths of the redesigned survey.
