Abstract:This research analyses the manual assembly process of LFE packages at Bronkhorst High-Tech. These precision parts determine the flow capacity of the flow meters the company produces. The LFE packages consist out of a specific number of small metal disks (LFEs) which are currently manually counted, oriented and stacked. The process is perceived to be inefficient. With the findings of the analysis, the ideas already present in the company and the ideas gained from literature, alternatives and improvements are suggested for the short-, medium- and long-term. They are, respectively; a (simple) counting machine, an alternative supplying method for the LFEs and full automation of the process.
