Abstract: | Over the past decade, inclusive business has become a concept which combines traditional for-profit characteristics with not-for-profit goals. The combined nature of inclusive businesses and the influences of the Bottom of the Pyramid context demand adapted business models and strategies. Furthermore, these aspects also impact the pace at which an inclusive business moves through its business lifecycle. Hence, this paper investigates different growth strategies throughout the business lifecycle in the Bottom of the Pyramid context through three case studies. These case studies analyse how the Bottom of the Pyramid context influences the companies’ way of doing business and how they have adapted their business models and strategies in response. |
