Optimal treatment pattern : how could the orthopaedics best improve the utilisation of the wards by adjusting the way they plan elective admissions?

The hospital struggles with capacity problems at the wards. An adjusted way of planning elective admissions is researched. We made a categorisation of admissions based on their length of stay. This categorisation was necessary to create rules of thumb for admission planners. With these rules of thumb, the admission planners are able to generate a pattern of admissions that benefits the wards.
