Abstract: | Technology supporting communication is self-evident. However, in Dutch primary schools, it does not seem self-explanatory to digitally communicate academic (Cito and method) results with parents. The findings of this study show that there is a foundation for sharing academic results through a digital platform, like Ouderportaal from ParnasSys. The results of this explorative field study with the quantitative data from two questionnaires filled in by 182 teachers and 99 parents show that both parents and teachers want more digital sharing of academic results as opposed to merely face-to-face communication. This study explores the opportunity for the OP to grow and improve since more parents and teachers would like to use digital media for sharing and receiving academic results. Moreover, digitalization and automatization of sharing results with learning goals, and example questions could reduce the workload for teachers and enhance the satisfaction of parents. |
