Abstract: | Literature suggests that firms employ technology in a firm to achieve better firm performance, several studies have proven that employing some sort of technology (or IT) in a firm does indeed result in a better firm performance and thus, achieve competitive advantage. This thesis examined to what extent financial firm performance is influenced by the emerging construct Robotic Process Automation (RPA). In addition, research suggested that IS capabilities and IS resources should have a moderating impact on this relationship. Since RPA is a relative new concept, it has not been researched that much, with this thesis, I would like to fill this gap. With the help of a survey, the posited hypotheses and research question were tested, where the respondents were financial and technology employees of firms in The Netherlands. The results of the partial least squares regression showed that no evidence is found to support the hypotheses and research question. |
