Abstract: | The article describes methods for improving pulse reconstruction for photomultiplier tubes and assesses the efficiency of the air shower detectors used in the HiSPARC experiment. The article deals with reconstruction of pulses with the help of comparator data and provides a method for filtering out the effects of using different equipment. New methods have been developed to improve pulse reconstruction and equipment filtering. Those methods allow for assessment of the detection efficiency of scintillator-based air shower detectors. The newly developed methods are used to improve the angle reconstruction by applying machine learning techniques. |
