Abstract:The research considers an algorithm for the bay placement of intermodal containers. A heuristic is proposed that helps optimize terminal handling operations, reducing relocation percentage, and thus saving costs. Numerical evaluation of the algorithm is assessed, and an indication of possible improvement given.
