Abstract: | The mobility needs in the Netherlands are increasing while the capacity of existing transport is limited. This leads to congestions, travel delays and an increase in emission gasses. Especially within densely populated cities, the availability of reliable and fast transportation modes become problematic. Light rail is a transportation solution with high capacity and significant commercial speed. However, its implementation in cities leads to different problems. One of these problems is that different approaches for organising a Test & Commissioning phase for light rail projects lead to different outcomes, which can contribute to delays and an increase in costs. To improve this situation, the following research objective has been set; Determine how a Test & Commissioning phase can be organised for light rail projects. |
