Abstract: | Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is a technique used in failure analysis to explore the many potential or actual causes of product or system failure. With more complex products and systems being developed every day, the methods to analyse all the possible causes of errors are in continuous development too. Thus, FTA computer programs are desired, and there's a wide variety of them. Programs with commercial licenses, open-source code, and online tools are available. Existing FTA programs are mostly profit- and result-driven, resulting in different interfaces, work processes, and outputs that are not ideal for testing new features or other research. To further develop and utilize new and more complex FTA methods, a program focused on research must be used, something the current tools lack. A program for the researcher of the field of FTA. A new program is required to fiill the gap for the Formal Methods and Tools group, where an intuitive graphic al user interface (GUI) creates a natural workflow for its user. |
