Abstract: | New technologies and applications introduced in our private lives continuously merge into our work life. Especially in the field of managed travel, the transition to digital tools is accelerating fast. Company S is a stock-listed corporation with various facilities around the globe and over 137.000 employees worldwide. Overall, the company has already implemented a wide variety of digital tools to support a digital workplace for its employees. However, different branches across countries require employees to conduct alternative business processes and activities that frequently reach their limits when it comes to realizing digitalization potentials. The research goal of this thesis is to develop the digitalization process of company S in the travel domain by gathering the requirements of company S and its employees towards a digital travel solution and providing a mockup design for that solution. Results indicate that a solution must incorporate automation and standardization features, especially during the pre and post phases of the business trip. The majority of employees is interested in features that simplify their business trip planning process and post-processing activities. |
