Abstract: | Portfolio management has always been difficult, especiallyin the IT sector[1]. Many studies have put forward sug-gestions to increase reliability of such management sys-tems. However, modeling IT-architectures is hard andtime-consuming. Furthermore, giving weights to depen-dencies in the system is often subject to politics and per-sonal opinions. Additionally, estimating parameters isnearly impossible without big-data to support a valid esti-mation. This paper focuses on methods to increase usabil-ity of IT portfolio management and assessing whether thiswould be desired. One such suggestion is to make use ofsystem dynamics to enable simulation over time. This ispossible when cost and revenue over time is known. Whenflat cost and revenue is known, assumptions have to bemade. Furthermore, a tool is developed to increase easeof use and solve the high complexity problem for modelingdependencies and calculating their estimated outcome |
