Abstract: | The Robird is an ornithopter designed for bird control. The system has a large energy con- sumption during operation. By reducing the energy consumption, a larger ight time can be achieved. The aim of this project is to design a program that is able to find the most energy efficient path from point A to point B. For that, a simplified dynamic model of the system is developed and optimized to describe the behavior of the aircraft. It is then used in a program that iterates through different combinations of the ight conditions to find those that produce the path that consumes the least amount of energy. |
