A total of 11 employees participated in this study, all participated in interviews and 4 participated in the focus group. Results: This study shows that there is a relationship between employees and the other layers used in the model by Wirtz et al (2019) and that employees should be embedded into the IoT model to provide more in-depth information on the factors that influence implementation of IoT technologies. Conclusion: Based on this study, it can be concluded that employees play an important role as facilitators for the successful implementations of technological change.
