Abstract: | The outbreak of Corona has major consequences for the care of trauma patients with a sustained fracture. The aim of this study is to optimize the care for trauma patients with a fractured ankle, knee, wrist, shoulder or elbow during their recovery. The research question is: ‘Can iterative expert meetings be used to develop a new tele-rehabilitation app that supports trauma patients with a fracture during rehabilitation and how is this app assessed by these patients?’. Based on expert meetings, the ZGT Traumachirurgie app has been developed by extending the #Enkel app for other patient groups with a fracture. By using questionnaires, it is investigated how the ZGT Traumachiurgie app was assessed by the involved patients. The questionnaires have shown that the app generally scores highly among patients. Based on the results of the questionnaires, it can be cautiously assumed that there are possibilities for ZGT to have the extended app used by patients during a fracture recovery, so that care for these patients can be optimized and the current pressure on healthcare could be reduced. |
