Reducing the throughput time at machine-builder X

The throughput time of the machines built by Machine-builder X needs to be decreased, where this is a demand from customers of Machine-builder X. Some of the materials (purchasing decisions) that are required for building the machine have long lead times, extending the throughput time. With the design of a solution method, a better approach for these purchasing decisions is identified and can be recommended to reach a throughput time of four months.
