Abstract: | Asthma is a chronic lung disease which affects a lot of people. Part of the treatment of asthma is doing spirometry tests to keep track of the lung function. These tests can be done at the hospital or at home. However, since with home spirometry there is no medical supervision, errors could occur. One of these errors is leakage of air flow. This error can cause faulty data. To find a solution for this problem, a sensor analysis and search for state of the art was performed. With the resulting knowledge from this research, a low fidelity prototype was made and tested. The results of this user testing was used to further develop the system. A high fidelity prototype was designed and tested on its performance. Afterwards, a discussion was performed from which future work and a conclusion was derived. |
