Abstract: | The advent of advanced information and communication technologies like the Internet of Things allows governmental institutions to implement smart city applications. This comes forth with many advantages, like an improved quality of life, efficiency and sustainability. Yet, applying interconnected, intelligent devices into the physical infrastructure of a city also brings new cybersecurity challenges that need to be managed. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to provide the typical risks and possible countermeasures for smart cities, from a cyber risk management perspective. |
