Abstract: | In this thesis, we analyse the difference between two surgery scheduling methods regarding the variation in bed occupancy. We compare scheduling using admission quotas with scheduling using Length of Stay (LoS). We perform the research at the ChipSoft in collaboration with the RKZ (Red Cross Hospital). We create two models to schedule patients based on LoS. Besides, we create a model that schedules using the admission quotas. We show that we can reduce the variation in the daily peak occupation by using the scheduling method using LoS. |
