Abstract: | Company X produces Cutter Suction Dredgers for customers all over the world. These Cutter Suction Dredgers are equipped with hardware that is produced by Powerspex. By looking at the production process of the dredger hardware from a lean perspective I was able to identify the non-value adding activities. Together with the employees of Powerspex, I have researched the causes of these non-value adding activities to consequently think of possible solutions to eliminate the non-value adding activities or to reduce the time spent on the non-value adding activities. In total 13 non-value adding activities have been found, and with multiple solutions, the number of working hours is reduced. To successfully implement and evaluate the solutions, I have made an implementation plan for Powerspex and a dashboard in the program Power BI to keep track of the effect of the implemented solutions. |
