| Abstract: | Two important parts of purchasing nowadays are supplier performance evaluation and the supplier selection process. In this research the outcomes of the preferred customer matrix were compared with the outcomes of the supplier performance evaluation. The results showed that the supplier performance evaluation did not give an indication wheter a buyer is a preferred customer. The second part of this research focussed on the standardization of the supplier selection process with the inclusion of a preferred customer prediction. The results showed that the inclusion was possible however many future research needs to be done to enhance the assessment of preferred customer prediction |
