Abstract:Europe’s aging population will lead to problems & eHealth is a promising solution. A 2016 study set out to expand upon the domain ‘organisational aspects’ of the MAST and led to a set of determinants for effective eHealth enabled integrated care (eHEIC). Objective: By updating the previous research done in 2016 and validating the found and updated determinants of eHEIC, a contribution can be made towards sustainable eHealth implementation & a tool to assist with implementation. Method: A systematic literature review update was conducted. The outcome was adapted into a proto-tool which was validated in a Delphi study compromised of a group of Dutch healthcare implementation experts. Results: The update concluded that in the additional literature since 2016 no new determinants were found, but two of the determinants were expanded with new insights. The found determinants led to a proto-tool. The Delphi study with the proto-tool reached consensus in 2 rounds after changing 3 of the items . Conclusion: The outcome of this study was a set of determinants of eHEIC implementation, made into a validated proto-tool. This tool can be used as a guiding framework with points for attention to improve the effectiveness of eHEIC implementation activities and collaborations.
