| Abstract: | The main aim of this assignment was to design a universal testing setup for the butterfly valves (testing under wet condition). The assignment involved studying the different types of valves, different sizes of the valves, tests that are conducted on the valves and the problems that arose while conducting the tests. Once this was done a universal setup was to be designed or modify the current testing setup to be universal for testing all the variety of the valves. The assignment was a challenging one as a trade off had to be made between achieving a universal solution for testing and the feasibility under the current scenario of work considering the vast diversity that exists between the valve sizes and types. So a constraint for valve sizes had to be applied. |
