Abstract: | The rapid growth of the internet is not only transforming the way one engages and communicates but also brings along new opportunities for fraud and data theft. These opportunities are widely known as attacks, which now increasingly involve coordination amongst multiple hackers, sitting across international boundaries to work together and perform a coordinated "chain of crime". The most significant contribution of this research is to study theoretical as well as practical knowledge on supporting criminological theories: Routine Activity Theory and Rational Choice Model in cybercrime to recognize the crime sequences which eventually help in understanding how two or more cybercrime such as Distributed Denial-of-service and Phishing attacks could be associated with each other. |
