Preventive maintenance and inventory model using failure rates

The materials that IMD uses show increased failures per year. The breakdown of the items causes high downtimes and high costs. In this case, the UV-vis sensor is selected as an item. A model is created with the available failure data to calculate the optimal replacement age with a Weibull distribution. This replacement age is then used as input for the inventory part, which results in calculated safety stocks and an order-up-to level.
