Abstract: | The trend of using technology in sports is on the rise, where volleyball is the 5th most popular sport in the world. The aim of this research is to analyse whether the quality of a spike can be determined with the use of an IMU sensors and machine learning. This helps to improve volleyball when it comes to smart sport. IMU sensors are placed to certain parts of the body, where the output of the IMU will be used in machine learning. The quality of the smash is rated using “good” or “bad”. The results of this studies show that the quality of the smash can be detected. Thus, the conclusion is that the quality of a volleyball smash can be detected. |
