Abstract: | Within this research, an attempt was made to tackle the lack of confidence of pre-service teachers. Via the design of a supportive Virtual Reality training, the aim was to train their listening skills. With the use of spatializer software inside a 3D game environment, spatial audio was implemented in a virtual music class to localize inconsistencies of students. In this virtual music class eight students are playing the chord notes of the song “The lion sleeps tonight”. The pre-service teacher has to hear and identify three common inconsistencies in a music class: playing too early, playing too late and playing along with a different chord. When the pre-service teacher has found some inconsistency, he directs his feedback to the individual student to improve his or her playing. |
