Abstract: | This internship was concerned with a data analysis at the DTU Wind Energy, Meteorology and Remote Sensing section. DTU Wind Energy in general counts over two hundred employees in a highly multi-cultural environment. Worldwide, this is known as the center for wind energy research. The tasks performed were a data analysis of a measurement campaign using lidar based anemometers, also known as the WindScanner. Since a lot of factors are unknown in using the wind data retrieved from the WindScanner (www.windscanner.eu), future research is still necessary. Many applications has to be found to test and optimize the abilities of the WindScanner. An internship at DTU gives you multiple opportunities to attend science meetings related to other challenges in wind energy, such as wind farm wake optimization and offshore electricity distribution. As a whole, the DTU staff is highly experienced which makes it the perfect working environment for an internship abroad. Especially in the meteorology section they are ready to welcome more interns. |
