Abstract:PepsiCo faced a blockage and congestion problems in the Outbound Logistics department of one of their factories named VSF. The factory consisted of two separate parts that needed some action to improve the process eliminating the blockages and congestion. The research was to find possible tools and improvement points to implement in the current way of working. The main aim of the company was to have continuous production without stoppages. We developed some tools like a KPI dashboard, a yard template and a simulation model to enhance data visualization, parking visualization and different scenarios experimentation. The tools showed a great impact on the process flow where fewer stoppages and congestion take place improving the way of working. According to the results of the research, the following recommendations were made: •Improvements oAutomate KPI board to save time and human error chances oAutomate yard template by introducing barcode systems or by adding sensors on the parking Use simulation model while changing the input distributions testing for an optimal number of loaders and strategies.
