Abstract: | The ALIA Density Meter (ADM) uses a parameter estimation algorithm to estimate the density of a slurry inside a tube. The Extended Kalman Filter is used as a real-time estimation algorithm as an alternative to the frequency domain estimation techniques used previously, which suffered from bias due to high noise levels. The Extended Kalman Filter is applied to simulated data to test the algorithm for bias and adaptability to changes in density. The algorithm is then applied to real data from an ADM to test its use in the field. |
