Abstract:Increasing evidence outlined the importance of savouring for well-being by up-regulating positive emotions. The associations between the main savouring strategies and well-being within the daily context have remained unknown. The present study examined the associations between Capitalizing, Behavioural Display, Be Present, and Positive Mental Time Travel and emotional well-being. More recently, adaptive emotion regulation is defined as the flexible use of diverse emotion regulation strategies. The current study investigated savouring flexibility by assessing the association of savouring regulation diversity, the use of two or more savouring strategies, in contrast to savouring regulation specificity, the use of only one savouring strategy, and emotional well-being. Additionally, the interaction effect of positive events and savouring regulation diversity on emotional well-being was examined.
