Abstract: | Purpose: A Delphi study was conducted to research the experience of online sermons and online services to improve practices based on what we learned from a time when services had to be fully online. Getting insight into this would benefit teachers preparing sermons. Design: For this study, three panels, namely, stayed online church attendees, switched online church attendees, and stopped online church attendees, participated in three rounds of questionnaires Findings: These suggestions fall under a) fostering a sense of gathering, b) creating a balance between good technology and good preacher, c) understanding the audience, especially the listeners at home, and d) evaluating the role of worship during the services. Value: This research offers new insight into the experience of online sermons in online services. It also gives suggestions on what can be further improved and researched on this topic. |
