Abstract:The study aimed at investigating to what extent risk-averse health attitudes are associated with less alcohol use among students and whether a fear of COVID-19 weakens this relationship. An online questionnaire was administered among a sample of students. Correlation and moderation analyses were conducted. The results suggested that more risk-averse health attitudes are in fact associated with less alcohol consumption but a fear of COVID-19 did not significantly moderate this relationship. Influencing health-risk attitudes might be a way to reduce problematic alcohol use among students.
