Abstract:Different measures were enacted by the government of the Netherlands to combat the spread of the coronavirus over the course of two years. During this time there was a varying amount of online and on-campus education offered at the University of Twente. The measures affected people studying and working on campus, but no research has been done into these changes. This paper explores the relationship between the different measures enacted and campus occupancy at the University of Twente. This is done by using connection data collected from access points on the campus. Differences in campus usage between students and employees are explored as well as between housing and other facilities. We show that campus occupancy has not returned to pre-pandemic levels and that students were affected more than employees.
