Abstract: | University students are struggling with various issues. Goal setting interventions could be a quick and easy way to ameliorate these struggles. The main research question for the current review was: Do goal setting interventions have a significant effect on university students? A search was conducted in three different databases and the results were evaluated based on multiple inclusion and exclusion criteria. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 26 studies were left. Upon reviewing the studies, it appeared that goal setting interventions can have a significant positive effect on university students, depending which area the students want to improve in. One area that future researchers could focus on might be whether there is a specific subgroup of students that stands to benefit most from goal setting interventions. As for the implications for current practice, universities could offer goal setting interventions to improve dietary choices of university students. |
