Abstract: | The research proposes a model to calculate the photovoltaic yield of a sailing yacht during different scenarios, where the location, time period and type of movement can be set as parameter. The model provides insight in the potential of PV integration on the selected concept areas on the case study yacht. The results show large potential for PV integration on the case study yacht, however the integration locations will need to be approved by the client as they may be too distracting from the selected exterior design. Further studies regarding the accuracy and validation are needed as currently no comparable situations are available. The model is limited as it only includes the output of the PV panels, more parameters can be added as the details regarding the case study yacht become clear. |
