Abstract: | Ter Hoek Vonkerosie Rijssen B.V. tries to carry out the production of single pieces to small series using PECM because of the advantages the process can bring to high-quality products. However, feasibility studies are often very timeconsuming and do not yield sufficient results. In this work, a material characterisation method is developed for use in combination with an industrial PECM machine namely the PEM 800. The uniqueness of this is that there is a great similarity with the test method and practical production conditions. No reference electrode is used, despite the fact that material machinability, material-specific material removal rate and surface quality could be determined using this method. Developing the method, proving its reliability and validity is explained in this work. |
