Abstract: | This study aimed to investigate the boundaries of student-teacher relationships in the university context. It was further asked for characteristics that are likeable to be displayed by a teacher and what aspects determine the feeling of comfortableness around a teacher. The study included 18 bachelor students studying at the University of Twente. The qualitative study was implemented by conducting semi-structured interviews that were afterwards coded using an inductive, thematic approach. The study revealed that students have some variation in their perception of boundaries in a student-teacher relationship and preferred characteristics of a teacher. |
