Abstract: | This master's thesis explores the perception of organizational communication by home and foreign employees and their leaders in an international SME, and its impact on organizational identification and job satisfaction. A mixed-method research design was employed, including qualitative interviews (N=19) and a quantitative online survey (N=87). The findings indicate no differences in perception between managers and employees regarding the impact of communication on identification and job satisfaction. Positive and negative drivers of communication and identification were identified, emphasizing the need to address geographic and cultural distance and communication difficulties in international offices. The quantitative analysis reveals positive associations between communication, identification, and job satisfaction, with identification mediating the relationship between communication and job satisfaction. The study confirms the relationship in the context of international SMEs, provides insights into drivers of identification and communication, and explores potential manager-employee differences. Practical implications include strategies for enhancing identification and improving communication processes, addressing challenges, and fostering a positive communication environment in international SMEs. Keywords: SMEs, Organizational Communication, Identification, Job Satisfaction, Internationalization, Foreign Expansion. |
