Abstract: | The Dutch construction sector is vital for sustainability but poses environmental challenges, chiefly due to concrete use. This research aims to accelerate the shift towards sustainable construction, focusing on sustainable concrete. I evaluate the current state of sustainable concrete in Dutch construction, identifying factors that influence decision-making. The Transition Innovation System (TIS) framework guides our analysis. Key findings highlight the need for increased R&D funding, specific regulations, expanded collaboration, improved market access, awareness campaigns, financial incentives, and robust testing. Implementing these recommendations will drive sustainable concrete adoption, fostering a more sustainable and resilient Dutch construction industry, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing resource efficiency in the built environment. |
