Abstract:
Apollo Tyres Ltd. is an international leader in the tyre manufacturing industry. Their AGRI production process, responsible for producing tyres with agricultural applications, is not reaching its target output. The main reason for this is a lack of input in the last production phase caused by misalignments across multiple phases in the production process. This research investigates how to improve the alignment within the AGRI production process. Our approach involves a comprehensive analysis of the AGRI production process, a review of literature on improvement approaches such as the Theory of Constraints and Lean, and the development of an improvement framework. This study identifies seven alignment problems within the AGRI production process. Subsequently, it proposes solutions for the five most constraining problems.
