Abstract:ABI is a production company of technical brushes and mats. The problem of ABI is scheduling the orders of the technical brushes since that department has been growing and they have been gaining backorders. The backorders result in an uncertain delivery time for their customers. To find a scheduling method that can be applied to ABI the production process and the current used scheduling method is mapped. Based on this information the use of the heuristic priority rules are used to create a schedule. The priority rules minimum slack and earliest due date are used because these rules take into account the due date of the orders. After a schedule is made with the priority rules the steepest descent method is used to try and improve the schedule with regards to the KPIs average completion time and maximum lateness.
