Abstract: | Due to the merger from which Amsterdam UMC originated, the brachytherapy department will move from location AMC to VUmc in the first quarter of 2025. However, they first have to move internally within location AMC. This period is called the bridging period. During the bridging period, the work process will change because the available facilities will differ from the current situation. Because of this new work process, the demand for operating room time will increase dramatically. That is why this study aims to design a blueprint schedule for the brachytherapy department with the goal of treating at least the same number of patients as currently. This blueprint is designed in three phases using discrete event simulation models and an integer linear programming model. |
