Abstract: | Iodine dosimetry is becoming increasingly important for the future of radioactive iodine therapy in refractory thyroid cancer patients and redifferentiation therapies. Personalized therapy can ensure safe administration of high doses and can be achieved with accurate and precise imaging modalities such as PET and SPECT. The accuracy and precision of a PET and SPECT system were determined for toxicity dosimetry and lesion dosimetry with I-131 and I-124, respectively. With better reconstruction methods current calibration with high activities can be improved to overcome dead-time effects and partial volume effects. |
