Abstract: | Salland Storage is a company that rents out storage in the form of centralized storage parks. They wanted to introduce a second layer to these storage parks in order to increase their revenue. This thesis aims to do this by first analysing the current state of progress. Following that, the required legislation is researched. To confirm the structural safety, several simulations are performed, and solutions such as brackets and load-spreading measurements were developed. A tool is also introduced that can be used to adapt certain design elements in order to alter the feelings instilled by the design. This tool is used to adapt off-the-shelf peripherals such as stairs and bridges that. A case study proves that a two-story storage park will be more profitable than a one-story storage park after 5 years. Both a testing and construction plan have also been introduced that provides Salland Storage with a clear future roadmap. |
